NYC Footyβs Reschedule Protocol
When games are canceled as a result of a disruption caused by weather, field conditions, permit conflicts, etc., NYC Footy will do everything we can to reschedule affected games. However, the rescheduling of games is not guaranteed and not as straightforward as simply extending the current schedule by a week and/or moving the games to another day at the same time and place. We are constrained by permit availability* and this, by default, heavily informs our policy.
Our reschedule policy is as follows and takes the below priority. If we are unable to execute Priority 1, we move to Priority 2 and so on.
Extend the season by adding a rescheduled week (if permit time allows).
Add the game to an existing week with double-headers (if permit time allows).
Schedule the game at one of our dedicated "make-up" fields on a different day (usually Saturday or Sunday). Teams are expected to attend and will be subject to our forfeit policy.
No reschedule and the game is canceled entirely. This is an extremely rare scenario.**
Please note: Games are always on unless you hear otherwise directly from NYC Footy via the Captainsβ Chats and/or email to your league/division. Canceled games will result in this reschedule protocol.
*Permits are typically constrained to a specific number of dates. We are required to use every date that we have a permit for, which is why the majority of NYC Footy leagues utilize the full permit, without much room for makeup games or reschedules.
**Leagues with game cancelations and/or reschedules are not eligible for partial or complete refunds or credits. For more info, please review our refund policy.
